There used to be an old car commercial in the 70’s that touted Baseball, Hot Dogs, Apple Pie, and Chevrolet as the epitome of Americana. It must have been effective because nearly 50 years later Chevrolet got Guy Fieri to create an apple pie hot dog and promote it at a baseball game.
There are Apple Pie Cocktail recipes available. But they are mostly sweet and cloying, as you might expect. However, in the vain of that American icon, the Apple, we instead present the Appletini. Made with Sour Apple liquor it tastes more like a crisp green apple rather than a sweet rich apple pie. That is much more conducive to drinking on a hot July 4th day.
